ARC Review: A Basic Renovation by Sandra Antonelli

A Basic Renovation - Sandra Antonelli

For most of the book I just wanted it to be over. It was slow moving and at points sloppy writing. Spelling errors that someone should have caught very easily.

Both Lesley and Dominic are childish and sometimes just plain dumb. There's a lot of talk about how they're middle aged and yet the smartest person is the 16 year old.

As for the rest of the side characters they're just selfish and doesn't listen.

I think it's all supposed to be cute and funny, but I just find it annoying.

The small parts of following Lesley's grandfather GP were very unnecessary, and had me skimming those parts.

As for the sex scenes, those were skipped entirely, overused cliches and shuddering word choices.

There's not much else to say about it, feel free to read and form your own opinion.
